This Chinese-English dictionary is based on CEDICT project. The dictionary can be searched by Chinese, pinyin or English. However, since this is a Chinese-English dictionary and not an English-Chinese dictionary, it's better to use Chinese characters (simplified or traditional) or pinyin to look up words.

Search results display the Chinese word being looked up, the pinyin transliteration and the English definition. The dictionary has only words. It doesn't have phrases. When using pinyin, please separate the syllables with spaces. You can enter pinyin with or without tone numbers. The related words section will show you other dictionary entries that contain the looked up word somewhere.
